Mike Carson here with some thoughts regarding car dealer financing...

I don't know too many auto dealers that don't offer some sort of financing. Most go through banks, credit unions, and finance companies. That is IF you qualify. (IF is the biggest word in the English language!) If you don't qualify for 'conventional' financing, many dealers don't have a way to help you.

Carson Cars will help you get an auto loan. Regardless of your credit situation, we have a plan custom fit for you. Carson's has 40 years worth of bank, credit union and finance company relationship. Carson Cars also offers "in-house financing". We are the bank.
Some dealerships will finance on a car they sell you, but never report your good credit history. At best you may be able to buy another 'beater' car from them in the future. That's great if you only plan on buying at "Joe's used cars" forever, but it doesn't help you get into a better situation.

At Carson Cars we report our finance accounts to two of the largest Credit Bureau reporting agencies, Equifax and TransUnion. (They show the same as any other trade line from a bank or lender) The payments that you make to us will report to your credit bureau. This is by far the easiest and fastest way to rebuild a poor credit report. In my experience, just getting an auto loan trade line on your credit report will raise your credit score about 20-40 points. Pay that loan to under 1/2 the original loan amount? Add another 20-40 points. Pay it in full? Another 20-40 points. I have seen people increase their credit score by over 100 points in under 6 months just by financing a car with us!

There are LOTS of good people that have credit issues. A lot have maintained good credit up to a point, only to have a one time, major hiccup, ruin their credit. (can anyone say Fannie Mae?)

During the holiday season, sometimes the most important things can get overlooked. With the rush to get all the shopping done, find that perfect gift, an unforgiving timeline of friends, family and functions SOMETIMES we forget...

We all live in the best country in the world... at the best time to be alive (ever!).... we have daily miracles in our lives in technology, medical breakthroughs, and have unprecedented access to almost unlimited knowledge and information...

Believe me. We are too blessed to be stressed.

Having my son, Max D, in my life has reopened my eyes in many ways. The love of family and friends is the best gift we could all hope for. All the rest of the stuff is just that...stuff. Really doesn't mean that much in the end (or even next year!)

I hope that everyone can step back and re-focus what is really important the Christmas. Share yourself with your friends and co-workers. Open yourself up to your family and neighbors. Think about what Christmas is REALLY about... giving more from yourself than you expect to get in return.

Used Car Sales Are UP at Carson Cars!!

I'm glad to say that Carson Cars has averaged over 100 sales for the last 3 months running! It's been awhile since that has happened, as business was off as much as 30%! I hope this is a trend that continues through the winter months (typically our slower time for auto sales).

I'm optimistic from a lot of things I'm seeing... People are coming in with bigger down payment & seem to be freeing up their purse-strings a little.
Our lenders & banks have definitely loosened back up again. They are making auto loans "like the old days" and we are able to help more people get the right loan for them. Our "In-House financing for Out-House Credit" finance program is also in full swing. WE approve the loans, since WE own the finance company! Carson Cars won't let someone leave without giving them a way to get a new car!

I'm also seeing a lot more vehicles being traded in at the dealership. I think this is due to several reasons including fear of selling on their own (Craig's List murders), value of their time, and the fact that trade allowances are WAY UP! Used cars are getting harder to get, now that the new car market has shrunk almost 30%. Those used car trades are becoming the best part of the car deal...we love trades at Carson Cars!

I think another reason for the increase in business is the fact that there are just a lot fewer dealerships around! I know a lot of dealers that just got out of the business when things got tough. This is a good thing for customers because the dealerships that have survived are the "good ones" and will help stabilize the market by offering a higher level of customer service.

I know times are still tough, but I'm glad that our business & our customer base seems to be getting back to pre-recession levels...

The ROCK N ROLL SALE

Tracy and I are headed to Spokane for the biggest auto auction of the year (yes, Spokane! ). DAA auction is having their annual Rock n Roll sale, this year featuring Joan Jet. Its always a good time anytime you get a couple thousand car guys together for a party... WATCH OUT SPOKANE! I am excited to get some adult time with Tracy...Max is staying with some friends. We are staying at the Red Lion which is always nice.

DAA spends close to $500,000 every year on this party & show. As you can imagine, they draw dealers and vehicles from all over the country. There will be over 6000 vehicles offered up! This sale offers some of the nicest vehicles, and we always bring home a truckload or two.

Carson Cars has been rocking (sold 104 last month), so it will be great to get that much more inventory!

I am previewing hundreds of cars every day...its what i do. If you are looking for that special vehicle, please call me for help. I am happy to locate the exact car or truck you want.

The numbers for June are in, and....

We just finished out one of our best months in recent memory! Sales were GREAT in June, and are even looking to be better in July! I'm very optimistic... I see a lot of positive trends in our market, and we are making alot of happy peeps!

At Carson Cars, we help with financing on almost every vehicle we sell. From very good credit to no credit to bad credit, we have finance options for EVERYONE!

Good credit customers can recieve interest rates as low as 4.9% APR! We are a CUDL dealer. CUDL is short for Credit Union Direct Lender. That just means that we have over 40 Credit Unions online, competing for your business. We can really offer some sweet deals! :)

No credit & first time buyers can also benefit from our banking relationships. We have several finance programs specifically for those just starting out in the credit world.

Thanks to our family of loyal customers, Carson Cars is doing GREAT!! We are having the best start to a new year EVER!

I hope that this is a sign that everyone is finally getting over this so called financial slump! (and NOT due to the fact that I'm on vacation in Hawaii!?!)

All the team is doing an awesome job while my family and I are enjoying beautiful Waikiki.

If you've never been, you really owe it to yourself to checkout Waikiki, Hawaii. It's so nice, with its pure sandy beaches, perfect 80+ degree temps, and ALL the 'fun stuff' to do.

I think Tracy, Max & I have never been so busy! We've been to the beach & the pool (Max LOVES the water!). We spent a day at the Polynesian Cultural Center- attended a luau, took a canoe ride (see pic), learned to open & 'milk' a coconut, and watched an AWESOME show with full-on fire dancers.

We are going to tour Pearl Harbor today.

We are having a great time, and 10 days have just flown by... back to work on Saturday.

Am I the only one that thinks it is REALLY weird that it is the year 2010. I can remember reading '1984' in high school and being told that THAT is futuristic. Weren't we supposed to be driving hover cars or something by now?

We recently worked out a deal with the credit reporting bureaus, that now all of Carson Cars "in-house" accounts will report to our customer's credit reports! This is a huge benefit for our customers, as this is THE BEST and QUICKEST way to improve a poor credit rating. This service is free to our customers, and will retro back 2 years of payment history.

Carson Cars also recently partnered with ASC warranty to offer full service contracts now available on ALL 'in-house' finance contracts. We hate to lose him, but Don Evola is leaving Carson Cars to pursue his Pizza business... Brooklyn Bros. Pizza in Everett, WA.

Don had been one of the key players on Carson Cars sales team, and he will be missed.

Do you ever feel like work is creeping into EVERY PART of your life?

I was looking at some pictures recently, and kept seeing myself on my cell phone. I wonder when it became like this; That I am ALWAYS accessing work info, recieving work calls, or fixing 'something' at work.

Don't get me wrong, I love what I do at Carson Cars.

I am able to help people everyday , get into the vehicle of their dreams. I also work with some great folks at the dealership. We really are like extended family...

BUT! And this is the BIG BUT! When did I become one in the same with my work at Carson Cars? I'm at the car dealership over 70 hours a week, my cell phone is over 8000 minutes a month, and I just got back from a convention in Vegas. NOW I am leaving to go to my 20 group meeting in Dallas! I feel like I am married to Carson Cars!

I don't really know where I am going with this... That picture just reminded me to slow down alittle. I have a beautiful partner in Tracy & we have a beautiful boy, Max. I really don't want to miss out on anything with them.

It will always by a juggling act I guess...

What to think of the current banking situation...

Do you ever wonder what's up with the banks?

They only want to loan you money when you DON'T need it. Didn't we (the tax payers) just bail their butts out? Where is the surge of loans & other activity?
I was flat out told but my banker, "We know the interest rates are going up... why would we loan money at these artifically LOW RATES today, when we know they are going up?!?"
That sucks! There are LOTS of people and businesses trying to move forward, but with no ability to get capital or loans.

It's really changed our business model at Carson Cars. I am proud to say that Carson Cars is the NUMBER ONE buy-here/pay-here auto dealer in Washington state! Almost half of our business are "in-house" finance accounts. Most are people who just needed a second chance.

What a day! The bus stop construction continues to have our ENTIRE front row torn apart. But we are selling cars despite the best efforts of the bus stop workers. I wonder how many people will actually use this Swift bus system. It is only going to travel from Everett to Aurora. Sure seems like a HUGE waste of money & resources to me. But what do I know?

What I DO know, is that Carson Cars will STILL sell 100+ cars a month, no matter what happens.
